Consumer co-creation lecture

Filed under: advertising, brand, web 2.0 — by wongpin @ 1:05 pm

Dr.Suwit Mesinsee lectured on Friday June 8, 2007

New paradigm for marekting for now and next era will move into the new co-relation between Cyberspace and Mindspace that we can call Post Knowledge Society era. In this era, the relation will gather value of Cyberspace those are Connectivity and Interactivity and add more of Mindspace value those are Accountability and Authenticity. That means people or consumer will not only care for their self but they will care more for their community. Thus will response in their needs which are the composition of Thinking, Knowing, Experiencing  (needs for knowledge) and Trusting, Caring, Sharing, Collaborating or “Need for post knowledge.” Some evident trends are such as Open sourcing, Open innovation or Wiki which core common value are NEA: Nobody can own, Everybody can use and Anybody can improve.

From this lecture, I got many inspired ideas. Words of Mount remains powerful but should raise more of Consumer own value.

Jon Steel – Perfect Pitch

Filed under: advertising, brand, presentation — by wongpin @ 12:00 pm

Perfect Pitch

Let’s hear what he taught us in his  great book.

“Probably the most memorable part of the book is the framing devices – the use of the OJ trial to show how presentations can be lost as well as won, the use of the Churchill speech to show how to dazzle without needing Powerpoint slides – if you want a flavour of this then check out the audio above from the APG event where Steel satirizes the Powerpoint version of the speech. I’m only sorry I can’t include the Powerpoint slides he used to make it even funnier but it still makes hilarious listening. The final coup is a dissection of the successsful British bid to host the 2012 Olympics. Steel spent 2 days with Magliano who led the Olympic bid presentation who took him through the 45 minutes beat by beat.”

nike plus

It seems that in Thailand nike puts more effort on interactive campaign. They not only create awareness but try to create intention by pursue consumers to book the time for have participation at website. This campaign is a good example of synchronising all interactive media such as forward mail, website and close with the participation.

Less stuffs

Filed under: brand — by wongpin @ 9:28 am

refer to : russell davies’ more idea, less stuff

He told about “green consumptions” that has a near meaning with current Thai faith “sufficiency” but different in the context especially the clearer explanation of branding. It is very impress in his easy illustrated example

A t-shirt might be a good example. How do we make this work with a t-shirt? How can a t-shirt company satisfy your consumer need for a new t-shirt without having to actually make a new t-shirt, package a new t-shirt or transport it to you? Can we persuade you to be happy with your old t-shirt or somehow refresh your old t-shirt so it feels new? And can we make money doing so? Can there be some exchange of value?

Can we create a brand world built with more ideas and less stuff? Can we stop using ideas to sell more stuff and use ideas as a substitute for stuff?

From my previous post about my doubt from seminar that try to apply branding with “faith of sufficiency.” Now I have more obviously idea that how could we do… But the core factors is rather hard for our humanity, how do we less our demand…

How to express your functional.

Filed under: brand — by wongpin @ 5:00 pm

One way to communicate you brand effectively is announcing
your functional benefit at first sight. Consumer wouldn’t wait
for your explain then throw away or keep without any awareness.

Today I got a creative sampling set that contains this concept.
The lotion for your dry skin…
You knows at first what is the functional.

First Point : Sufficient Branding

Filed under: brand — by wongpin @ 12:51 pm

Inspiring from today seminar “Future of Branding” at Chulalongkorn
the guest speaker has talked about “howto join branding with sufficient economy philosophy.”
In Sufficient Economy has 3 rules : Reasonable, Sufficiency and Self immune which all has subject to 2 conditions.
For my opinion I think it just a basically basis like a Business Ethics.
So I have many questions, for example, how “reasonable & sufficiency” of Richard Brandson was in starting Virgin Atlantic while the other airlines business were falling. However the guest speaker told she would write some book about this topic which I would read and sharing in further.
